hi
hi
hello
hi
what's up
yoyoyo
'sup
hey

If you have ever been in a large group chat, I'm sure you can relate to the aforementioned scenario. At my school, most of the kids use Google Hangouts. Chances are you know someone who knows someone who had a fetish for excessively, uselessly large group conversations. At least, that's the case with me.

I will get added to these superlarge (like 100 other people; no joke) group conversations, and for the next half hour or so, the devices around the house will go ballistic with notifications. When I finally get my lazy butt out of whatever seating apparatus I was occupying and check exactly why the world is a blizzard of "pings," I realize it is 2 people I have never heard of talking about something I couldn't care less about. Or, ya know, the "hi," "hey," repetition. Seriously annoying.

So I leave, right? Ha; I wish that worked. You see, if there are 100 people in a chat, and only one of them added me to it, there are still 99 others who didn't get the hint. Of course, the next day, my notifications decide to have another noisy house party. Then I get to leave again and send a message to everyone in my contacts to stop adding me to uselessly large group conversations.

Group chats were created with a purpose; to let people with a common goal or interest chat with each other easily. And no, going to the same school, (especially one as large as mine; 1351 students the last time I checked) does not count as having something in common. For example, I have a group chat with my friends from English Honors, which is useful when I have a question on homework or something like that. If I were to use the schoolwide chat for the same thing, it would be absolutely pointless. If I was lucky enough to get a response, (chances are that people talking about something else would bury my message) it would be very unlikely that I would get to read it (again, the response would get buried). Seriously, can you think of any relevant usage for these grotesquely large group forums?

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Exactly what I thought.

So join me in the movement against redundant and unproductive group chats.

Or rather, make your own movement. I'm too lazy. Seriously though, I am typing this on Thursday night to be released Friday morning. Sheesh, Nandy.

Hope you enjoyed this extravagantly verbose post!

Share, comment down below, follow, yadayadaya...

See y'all in a week! Or rather, read y'all in a week...

Wow! Proud of you, Nandy. You actually wrote a substantial amount this week. I guess people do their best work under pressure, and procrastinating is a great way to do that.

PROTIP: procrastinate

'Kay...stop typing. I bet people stopped reading after the 1st paragraph anyway.

And now I'm talking to myself.

*awkward*

Monthly Update

*you know a blogger is out of ideas when you see this title*

*you know a blogger is really desperate when they take up half the page with a useless graphic*

Hi Candies! *ugh, Grammarly, stop correcting me. I don't want a comma after the "Hi."*
My life has changed a lot this month, and really, since the beginning of the school year, so I've decided to update you on it.

*yeah...that's why you're doing this post...not because you're out of ideas*

School: Junior High is SO much more work than elementary school. 6 teachers and all these after-school clubs and teams; wow. I've had to work on time-management and decision-making skills this year because they throw you right from being taken care of in elementary school to having to be self-sufficient in Jr. High. However, at least my grades aren't suffering, but it's harder to keep them up there than it was last year.

Taekwondo: I am hopefully going to get my black belt next Saturday so yay!

Hobbies: Still into calligraphy, so if you guys want a tutorial of update or for me to post pictures, let me know.

'kay bye

Random Thoughts

Hi! I thought I would do a weirder than normal post this week (as if my posts weren't weird enough; flashback to last week). I would just type anything that came to my mind over the course of however long I can, so you can literally SEE INSIDE MY BRAIN. I must warn you; it's a strange place. Are you ready for a wild ride? Well...it's probably not that wild. Eh. Hope you enjoy?

5:12 pm; Why are white peaches closer to apples than to peaches?

5:13 pm; Plastic bag noises are such an ugly part of daily life.

5:14 pm; I keep trying to capitalize my 5 and typing %

5:15 pm; Did it again with the %. Can't wait for Turtles All the Way Down by John Green to come out tomorrow, Oct. 10! (This post is pre-typed, like almost all my posts)

5:17 pm. Gosh dang, Nandy, STOP TYPING %! YOU DON'T NEED THE SHIFT KEY TO TYPE 5!!!!!!!!!! $#%@^%*&!@#

5:18 pm; I will never learn how to type numbers, will I?

5:19 pm; We might all see different colors and never know it. If you're like,"wut?", click on that word to be enlightened.

5:21 pm; Casper is a happy Casper on this very Casperry day.

5:22 pm; Let me tell you something cool about me; John Green is my idol. Look him up on YT to join the masses of nerdfighters by clicking here.

5:23 pm; I type slow.

5:24 pm; OOOOOOOOOH MY PATI (grandmother) IS HANDING ME AN INDIAN SWEET YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

5:26 pm: Happy belated 10 minute anniversary, post.

5:27 pm; At lunch, today in school, suddenly like all my friends from elementary school were swarming us for no particular reason and talking about that time I called 911 from school, which I actually posted about back in the olden days. The nostalgia for 6th grade washed over me and it felt great to feel 'popular', or at least loved, by all those people. For 5 minutes. It's okay though. I am very awkward in person, and crowds make it worse.

5:30 pm; My parents are probably finding more out about my school life from this post than I have ever told them in person, not that I'm hiding anything. Or am I.....😏

5:34 pm; Okay, I'm bored of this now. I blame the short attention span on being a millennial. See y'all next week, and bye!

Random Facts About Cheese

Hello everyone. Does this post really need an intro? Let's cut to the cheese, already.

  • The most popular recipe with cheese in the U.S. is mac and cheese.

  • There are about 2000 types of cheese out there!

  • Evidence of cheesemaking goes back about 7000 years!

  • Mozzarella is the most consumed cheese worldwide, mostly due to the consumption of pizza.

  • 10 pounds of milk produces about 1 pound of cheese.

  • There is actually an illegal cheese called Casu Marzu which hosts live maggot larvae. Yum?

  • My life is a lie; mice actually DON'T LIKE CHEESE. Like, what?

  • A cheese seller can also be called a cheesemonger.

  • Tyrosemiophilia is the hobby of collecting labels of cheese.
I guess you could say this post was cheesy.

Hope you thought it was grate though.

Thank you for reading. See you next Rind-day! (Friday)

WIDE RULED COMPOSITION BOOKS NEED TO DIE!

Hi everyone. I apologize in advance if this topic is offensive, but this is a subject I am very passionate about! Let's get started, shall we?

Wide ruled paper. Ewww. Compared to college ruled,, wide ruled wastes paper since you can fit less on one page. Also, and this might be just me, but college ruled paper seems to have darker blue lines. Also, it's COLLEGE ruled. Don't you want to use the more mature paper?

Composition books are evil and impractical, and spiral notebooks are superior in every way. Composition notebooks have a random page size, so if you ever try to rip a page out and turn it in, it will look like you did less work than everyone else. That is, of course, assuming you can even tear the page out without massacring the edge. Composition notebooks also never stay open! They always close when I am on a specific page, whereas spiral notebooks have never let me down.

Just for fun, if you were to ask me to choose between a college ruled composition notebook and a wide ruled spiral notebook, I would choose the wide ruled spiral notebook.

Leave your counterarguments in the comments!

     See y'all next week!

How to Middle School

Bienvenidos! I am technically in Jr. High school, okay, but I am still qualified to give advice on this topic, I think. Since I can't do intros, let's get right into it.

TIP #1:

Get to class on time. Make sure you plan out your routes and know how much time you have left to get to your next class. I wear a watch, which helps me. It is also useful to know when you have time to use the restrooms and when you don't; in my school, being late to class = detention.

TIP #2:

If you have to change for P.E. like I do, bring a change of socks. It really helps you feel fresh if you can change out of your old socks, at least for me. Also, change quickly and keep your eyes to yourself. If everyone did this, there would be no reason to be self-conscious, so do your part. Okay...moving on from that awkward topic...

TIP #3:

Pick a meeting place with your friends the day before so you don't have to eat alone at lunch. Lunch is so much better when you don't have to search a campus of 1,300 kids (at least in my case) for your friends.

TIP #4:

Bullet journal it. See my post from a couple of weeks ago to learn more, but this technique will help with organizing club meetings, homework, and studying. My school makes us use an agenda that they hand out, but I still bullet journal because I find it gives you more freedom of choice.

TIP #5

Pick your clubs wisely. If you decide to join a club, great, but pick them with care. Every minute you devote to a club is one less minute you could spend studying for that quiz next week. Do the things you enjoy, not because your friends are doing it

TIP #6

Take care of yourself. Eat breakfast, wear comfy clothes (comfort over style is what I say, but it's totally up to preference), and sleep on a schedule. Speaking of...

     Buenos noches, dulces!
