How I Spent Christmas

I spent Christmas in Las Vegas. From Sunday to Wednesday, my family drove from our home's mild coastal climate into what was once the hottest place on Earth, and the lowest point in North America. Then we drove on into the largest city in the Mojave Desert, one famous for being called "Sin City." I learned and saw things I will never forget. I walked on an actual salt flat, the ground pale, crunchy, and yes, salty into the distance. I learned that even though Death Valley is notoriously arid and extreme, it has its own indigenous species of fish and that a Native American tribe has called the region home for a thousand years. And even though a relatively large part of the population where I live is vegetarian like me, I enjoyed some of the best veggie food I have ever tasted in Las Vegas.

And I did it all

Internet-free

Which was quite invigorating actually. For once, I could feel myself creating my own ideas instead of having them handed to me. I could feel myself actually appreciating the beauty of what I was seeing. I could feel myself becoming more... what's the word... mindful? Yes, I was becoming more mindful. I didn't realize how detached I was from the world until I wasn't anymore. And I don't think it was the nature, but the simple act of not going on the Internet unless it was totally necessary. I wasn't consuming information I didn't need anymore, which let me think for myself. Now I'm back at home, with about four internet-connected devices in the same room as me. Let's see how long this mindfulness lasts; hopefully for a long time.

Blogiversary and stuff

Hi world!

I will be very honest with you and admit that I forgot to write this post until Thursday night, which is right now. Honestly, when I got to Junior high, life changed so much from elementary school. Like for one, I actually have this thing they call homework. I know. Crazy. Also, these things called after school clubs exist. And group projects are real. It's like... Woah.

On top of that, u am on one of the school's Science Olympiad teams, which takes up a large chunk of my time. I love it though.

However, I am at a bigger school now so I have more people I can consider friends.

Basically, the point of all this is red day that if my posts look rushed sometimes, it's probably because they were. It's not that I don't want to spend time on blogging, it's just that I have other stuff to do too.

I still love this site and what it's become. I'm fact, it turned a year old on the 15th! I hope for an even better year to come; what about you guys?

Sorry I can't add my signature image thing; typing this on my phone.

My Procrastination Problem

Hi. I would tell you what this post is about, but I write a post title for a reason.

I have a problem with procrastination, which is when you put stuff off until the last minute. This was really affecting the quality of my work, which was especially evident in my blog posts.

I think the problem developed through my bullet journal. No, the bullet journal system doesn't cause procrastination, but I think I was writing down too many tasks per day. At the end of the day, I would obviously not finish everything so I would have to settle for an "incomplete" that day. It snowballed from me being more lenient with myself to me outright saying I would do something "later".

I am solving the problem by writing less in my bujo. When my goals are realistic and I achieve them, I feel motivated to do more. However, I try not to keep my goals too easy to achieve or they are pointless.

If you also procrastinate, I highly recommend writing a daily to-do list with your studies or whatever. Make the list challenging but feasible.

In other news, I got my first Tombows. If you don't know what those are, they are really high quality advanced calligraphy markers. It is a huge milestone for me because I really enjoy calligraphy as a hobby.

oooooooooooooooooooookay bye

Thanksgiving! And Black Friday

Gobble! It's technically Black Friday, but I am doing a Thanksgiving-themed part of this post anyway.

I am thankful that I have the opportunity to have this blog.

     Enough mushiness.

Today, Black Friday, I will have to go clothes shopping. Yay. *voice drips with sarcasm* Seriously, though, I need it. My closet is full of stuff I don't fit into anymore.

I'm now out of ideas, so how about a history lesson. YAY!

According to History.com, the most common story is that every year, shops go "into the black" on Black Friday. Stores use the color red to record losses, and black to record profit. Apparently, on the day after Thanksgiving, shoppers spent so much on discounted items that stores would get to record the day's earnings in black, instead of the usual red.
     However, this story is false.

The true story goes like this: in the '50s, in Philadelphia, police used the term "Black Friday" to refer to the disorder that occurred the day after Thanksgiving. On the day after, a large  Army-Navy football game took place so tourists would flood in the day before (Friday). In this chaos, shoplifters would make off with goods from stores, so police had their work cut out for them. In the 1980s, retail stores removed the negative connotation from the term "Black Friday" and coined it as a sales bonanza. Eventually, discounts extended through the weekend and "Cyber Monday" and "Small Business Saturday" became other retail holidays.

Fun Fact: Black Friday is not the biggest shopping day of the year; that honor goes to the Saturday before Christmas.

Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you next Friday!

Hello there! It turns out that the Google we all know and love has a few tricks up its sleeve, so let's uncover them.

1) Try Googling "askew" and see if anything looks a bit... off.

2) Have you ever searched "Atari Breakout" on Chrome and gone to "images"? It's a complete waste of time - highly recommend.

3) A lot of people know this one, but if your internet is not working and that dinosaur pops up, press the space bar for entire seconds of ecstasy .

4) If you look up "solitaire" or 'tic tac toe" Google will indulge you in a game. It's useful when you are too lazy to go find cards or a piece of paper and a writing utensil!

5) This one isn't really an Easter egg, but Google Autodraw is a site that can guess what you draw. For best results, spend $700 on a touchscreen laptop.

6) Googling "recursion" can get recursive.

7) Google loves anagrams!

8) Ask Google to do a barrel roll; hey, it can do something my dog can't.

9) If you want to time travel, look up "Google in 1998"

10) Googling "Pacman" is a highly intellectually engaging way to cure boredom.

Sorry for the shorter post but I HAVE 2 PROJECTS DUE THIS WEEK GIMME A BREAK.

Wait... that makes Bubbles a blog grandma. Hey Grammy, if you're reading this!

Sorry for the short post this week, but as I'm sure some of you know, setting up a blog is very time-consuming. I have been working for maybe a couple of hours with her, and I actually had to ditch her for a few minutes to write this for you guys. Sorry!

Hope you decide to check out our new site and make sure to follow both of my blogs.

*note* this review contains spoilers and is more of a rant than a constructive recommendation
oopsie daisy

Hello, Internet! I recently read this novel at a friend's recommendation and decided to review it. As far as I know, it's not one of those uber-popular books like the Harry Potter series, but it's worth a read.

Genre; Mystery (murder mystery, specifically)  Romance

Plot;
A girl who lives in a trailer park and goes to a local high school starts getting mysterious messages from an unknown person. The messages are cryptic and read like clues, and suddenly, a girl from the protagonist's school is left drugged and unconscious behind some bleachers at a sports game. More and more of these incidents start piling up, and they are all related to the clues that the main character is receiving. Worse - the main character, Nearly (yes, that's her name), realizes that she is probably the next target. She can't tell anyone, either, or else people will, understandably, think she's out of her mind and probably consider her a suspect herself. Oh noes!

Additionally, there's this strange, rebel-type kid that's following Nearly around; rebel meaning like eyebrow piercings and a tattoo - in high school! His name is Reece, and he seems like he's trying to help, but really, in my opinion, he's getting a little too close for comfort. Also, even though this kid is well liked and actually portrayed in a very positive light, I kinda hate him. SPOILER: NEARLY ENDS UP WITH THIS KID. UGH!

Finally, Nearly is vying for a scholarship that will basically win her a ticket out of her decrepit trailer park home. The scholarship is enough to leave the trailer behind and go to college, but he is up against some tight competition, but unfortunately, her studies start to suffer. It turns out, surprisingly, that solving a murder mystery really eats into your studying time. Who woulda thunk? SPOILER: SHE LOSES THE SCHOLARSHIP

Although the plot kept me hooked until the very end, the actual resolution was very unsatisfying. At least, from my very biased viewpoint, Nearly should have studied harder instead of chasing after Mister Rebel Wannabe. Sure, she solved the mystery, but now she has nowhere to go, with no money to pay for college and a boyfriend who can't help her in any way.

It's probably apparent that I will be that mom who demands straight A's from my kids

Although good as a mystery book, in my opinion, this book sends all the wrong messages about things like school and the importance of your future.

However, I would highly recommend that  you read this book; maybe then you can yell at me for hating on Reece, or maybe you will agree with me.

Bottom line; guys, stay in school. Love, a 12-year-old girl with no experience in the "real world" whatsoever.

Make sure to check out Nearly Gone!

hi
hi
hello
hi
what's up
yoyoyo
'sup
hey

If you have ever been in a large group chat, I'm sure you can relate to the aforementioned scenario. At my school, most of the kids use Google Hangouts. Chances are you know someone who knows someone who had a fetish for excessively, uselessly large group conversations. At least, that's the case with me.

I will get added to these superlarge (like 100 other people; no joke) group conversations, and for the next half hour or so, the devices around the house will go ballistic with notifications. When I finally get my lazy butt out of whatever seating apparatus I was occupying and check exactly why the world is a blizzard of "pings," I realize it is 2 people I have never heard of talking about something I couldn't care less about. Or, ya know, the "hi," "hey," repetition. Seriously annoying.

So I leave, right? Ha; I wish that worked. You see, if there are 100 people in a chat, and only one of them added me to it, there are still 99 others who didn't get the hint. Of course, the next day, my notifications decide to have another noisy house party. Then I get to leave again and send a message to everyone in my contacts to stop adding me to uselessly large group conversations.

Group chats were created with a purpose; to let people with a common goal or interest chat with each other easily. And no, going to the same school, (especially one as large as mine; 1351 students the last time I checked) does not count as having something in common. For example, I have a group chat with my friends from English Honors, which is useful when I have a question on homework or something like that. If I were to use the schoolwide chat for the same thing, it would be absolutely pointless. If I was lucky enough to get a response, (chances are that people talking about something else would bury my message) it would be very unlikely that I would get to read it (again, the response would get buried). Seriously, can you think of any relevant usage for these grotesquely large group forums?

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Exactly what I thought.

So join me in the movement against redundant and unproductive group chats.

Or rather, make your own movement. I'm too lazy. Seriously though, I am typing this on Thursday night to be released Friday morning. Sheesh, Nandy.

Hope you enjoyed this extravagantly verbose post!

Share, comment down below, follow, yadayadaya...

See y'all in a week! Or rather, read y'all in a week...

Wow! Proud of you, Nandy. You actually wrote a substantial amount this week. I guess people do their best work under pressure, and procrastinating is a great way to do that.

PROTIP: procrastinate

'Kay...stop typing. I bet people stopped reading after the 1st paragraph anyway.

And now I'm talking to myself.

*awkward*

Monthly Update

*you know a blogger is out of ideas when you see this title*

*you know a blogger is really desperate when they take up half the page with a useless graphic*

Hi Candies! *ugh, Grammarly, stop correcting me. I don't want a comma after the "Hi."*
My life has changed a lot this month, and really, since the beginning of the school year, so I've decided to update you on it.

*yeah...that's why you're doing this post...not because you're out of ideas*

School: Junior High is SO much more work than elementary school. 6 teachers and all these after-school clubs and teams; wow. I've had to work on time-management and decision-making skills this year because they throw you right from being taken care of in elementary school to having to be self-sufficient in Jr. High. However, at least my grades aren't suffering, but it's harder to keep them up there than it was last year.

Taekwondo: I am hopefully going to get my black belt next Saturday so yay!

Hobbies: Still into calligraphy, so if you guys want a tutorial of update or for me to post pictures, let me know.

'kay bye

Random Thoughts

Hi! I thought I would do a weirder than normal post this week (as if my posts weren't weird enough; flashback to last week). I would just type anything that came to my mind over the course of however long I can, so you can literally SEE INSIDE MY BRAIN. I must warn you; it's a strange place. Are you ready for a wild ride? Well...it's probably not that wild. Eh. Hope you enjoy?

5:12 pm; Why are white peaches closer to apples than to peaches?

5:13 pm; Plastic bag noises are such an ugly part of daily life.

5:14 pm; I keep trying to capitalize my 5 and typing %

5:15 pm; Did it again with the %. Can't wait for Turtles All the Way Down by John Green to come out tomorrow, Oct. 10! (This post is pre-typed, like almost all my posts)

5:17 pm. Gosh dang, Nandy, STOP TYPING %! YOU DON'T NEED THE SHIFT KEY TO TYPE 5!!!!!!!!!! $#%@^%*&!@#

5:18 pm; I will never learn how to type numbers, will I?

5:19 pm; We might all see different colors and never know it. If you're like,"wut?", click on that word to be enlightened.

5:21 pm; Casper is a happy Casper on this very Casperry day.

5:22 pm; Let me tell you something cool about me; John Green is my idol. Look him up on YT to join the masses of nerdfighters by clicking here.

5:23 pm; I type slow.

5:24 pm; OOOOOOOOOH MY PATI (grandmother) IS HANDING ME AN INDIAN SWEET YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

5:26 pm: Happy belated 10 minute anniversary, post.

5:27 pm; At lunch, today in school, suddenly like all my friends from elementary school were swarming us for no particular reason and talking about that time I called 911 from school, which I actually posted about back in the olden days. The nostalgia for 6th grade washed over me and it felt great to feel 'popular', or at least loved, by all those people. For 5 minutes. It's okay though. I am very awkward in person, and crowds make it worse.

5:30 pm; My parents are probably finding more out about my school life from this post than I have ever told them in person, not that I'm hiding anything. Or am I.....😏

5:34 pm; Okay, I'm bored of this now. I blame the short attention span on being a millennial. See y'all next week, and bye!

Random Facts About Cheese

Hello everyone. Does this post really need an intro? Let's cut to the cheese, already.

  • The most popular recipe with cheese in the U.S. is mac and cheese.

  • There are about 2000 types of cheese out there!

  • Evidence of cheesemaking goes back about 7000 years!

  • Mozzarella is the most consumed cheese worldwide, mostly due to the consumption of pizza.

  • 10 pounds of milk produces about 1 pound of cheese.

  • There is actually an illegal cheese called Casu Marzu which hosts live maggot larvae. Yum?

  • My life is a lie; mice actually DON'T LIKE CHEESE. Like, what?

  • A cheese seller can also be called a cheesemonger.

  • Tyrosemiophilia is the hobby of collecting labels of cheese.
I guess you could say this post was cheesy.

Hope you thought it was grate though.

Thank you for reading. See you next Rind-day! (Friday)

WIDE RULED COMPOSITION BOOKS NEED TO DIE!

Hi everyone. I apologize in advance if this topic is offensive, but this is a subject I am very passionate about! Let's get started, shall we?

Wide ruled paper. Ewww. Compared to college ruled,, wide ruled wastes paper since you can fit less on one page. Also, and this might be just me, but college ruled paper seems to have darker blue lines. Also, it's COLLEGE ruled. Don't you want to use the more mature paper?

Composition books are evil and impractical, and spiral notebooks are superior in every way. Composition notebooks have a random page size, so if you ever try to rip a page out and turn it in, it will look like you did less work than everyone else. That is, of course, assuming you can even tear the page out without massacring the edge. Composition notebooks also never stay open! They always close when I am on a specific page, whereas spiral notebooks have never let me down.

Just for fun, if you were to ask me to choose between a college ruled composition notebook and a wide ruled spiral notebook, I would choose the wide ruled spiral notebook.

Leave your counterarguments in the comments!

     See y'all next week!

How to Middle School

Bienvenidos! I am technically in Jr. High school, okay, but I am still qualified to give advice on this topic, I think. Since I can't do intros, let's get right into it.

TIP #1:

Get to class on time. Make sure you plan out your routes and know how much time you have left to get to your next class. I wear a watch, which helps me. It is also useful to know when you have time to use the restrooms and when you don't; in my school, being late to class = detention.

TIP #2:

If you have to change for P.E. like I do, bring a change of socks. It really helps you feel fresh if you can change out of your old socks, at least for me. Also, change quickly and keep your eyes to yourself. If everyone did this, there would be no reason to be self-conscious, so do your part. Okay...moving on from that awkward topic...

TIP #3:

Pick a meeting place with your friends the day before so you don't have to eat alone at lunch. Lunch is so much better when you don't have to search a campus of 1,300 kids (at least in my case) for your friends.

TIP #4:

Bullet journal it. See my post from a couple of weeks ago to learn more, but this technique will help with organizing club meetings, homework, and studying. My school makes us use an agenda that they hand out, but I still bullet journal because I find it gives you more freedom of choice.

TIP #5

Pick your clubs wisely. If you decide to join a club, great, but pick them with care. Every minute you devote to a club is one less minute you could spend studying for that quiz next week. Do the things you enjoy, not because your friends are doing it

TIP #6

Take care of yourself. Eat breakfast, wear comfy clothes (comfort over style is what I say, but it's totally up to preference), and sleep on a schedule. Speaking of...

     Buenos noches, dulces!

Weird Phobias

Hello! There are some pretty unconventional fears out there, so let's talk about them.

1. Nomophobia; the fear of being without cellular contact to the world. Wow, this actually exists.

2. Equinophobia; fear of horses. I can actually understand this one.

3. Chionophobia; the fear of snow. I enjoy skiing, so this one seems strange to me. Snow is cold, but not scary. Or is it...

4. Spectrophobia; the fear of your reflection on the mirror. Funny story; Casper (my dog) is actually scared of mirrors. He barks at them as if there is another dog in the room, even though it's just him.

5. Aulophobia; the fear of flutes. I am in band, where we have many flute players, so my advice to people with this phobia is to never join a band.

6. Sophophobia; the fear of learning new things. I understand this fear when learning about the Dark Ages or something, but wow.

7. Ephebiphobia; the fear of teenagers. I laughed out loud when I read this, which was a bit insensitive, but this is a strange fear for sure.

8. Sesquipedalophobia; the fear of long words. Let that sink in, and look back at the name for this phobia. Yup.

Thanks for reading, and I'll see you next Friday!

How to Bullet Journal

Hello people! Recently I started bullet journaling, which is a system similar to a planner, diary, and future log. I decided to tell you guys all about it because I truly found that I enjoy it, and I am as lazy as lazy can get. Let's get started!

Elements of a Bullet Journal:
(in order from beginning to end)

Index
This can take up a few pages in the front of your bujo, and it is like a table of contents. For this to work, you have to number the pages.

Key
This is where you will write down all your symbols and their meanings. More on that later.

Future Log
This is a page where you can plan things months in advance, such as vacations. I recommend either a calendar format or just a list of things coming up.

Monthly Log
A page, just like the future log, but for just the month. You can go into more detail about what is coming up here. This is where you use those symbols; for example, I use a box for things I want to do, and a triangle for places I need to go.

Daily Log
A to-do list of what to do that day, as well as any memories you made that day, books you read, quotes you noticed, just make it YOU. Make it pretty or simple, the beauty of a bullet journal is how it adapts to YOU!

Collections
A collection is a page devoted to one topic, such as books you want to read in the future. They can occur anytime throughout the bujo.

For more inspiration, I suggest Tumblr or Pinterest to get you psyched. The beauty of bullet journaling is how you can omit things you don't like, unlike a planner. You can also decorate it, and unlike a diary, this is a great way to remember what you love without all the work of writing sappy entries.

The inspiration for this post comes from atweenschitterchatter.blogspot.com

Weirdly Wonderful: Desserts

Hello Candies! On Saturday, I tried rolled ice cream for the first time! For those of you all like, "Huh?" watch the video below to be enlightened.

After I got over the brain freeze and was finally able to think again, I decided to write a blog post about it because, duh. Better yet, why not make it its own series? So I did!

1) Bubble Tea; it's not rare or weird, but it's DELICIOUS!

2) Chakka Varati (Jackfruit Jam); Super time-consuming to make, but SUPER WORTH IT! This dessert originates from my home state in India, Kerala.

3) Fried Ice Cream; As they say in the South, everything's better fried. I seriously want to try this out but never have.

4) Red Bean Cake;  Red beans are used in many Asian desserts and they are so creamy and sweet. Love them.

5) Nitrogen Ice Cream; From the Phillipenes, this frozen ice cream is unique and comes in a variety of flavors.

Thanks for reading this post, and see you next week. Hope I made you hungry!

Reasons Why I Became a Vegetarian

I went vegetarian last summer and everyone in my family asks me why. Let's set it straight; here's why.

  • I wanted to save little animal's lives. And for people who counter this with "well you're killing plants," I can't argue. But I need to eat something, so this is the best I can do.
  • Being vegetarian is actually cheaper, and some studies show that it is healthier too!
  • It is better for the planet to be vegetarian because you contribute less to global warming and deforestation. ASAPScience has a great video on that right here:

It was hard at first to be vegetarian, but it was much easier with a buddy (my dad). It also helps to eat at a place with phenomenal veggie options; we were at a resort. Finally, do not attempt being vegetarian without knowing how much it really takes. Starting and not being able to follow through could be discouraging. Oh yeah. Get your protein. And check food labels. And all the cliche advice.

      Ciao, Candies

Summer sometimes sucks.
Here's why.

     Dear school district,
Where we live, students get 83 days of summer vacation. This long period can be broken up into 3 main stages.

Aaaaaahhhhh. School is finally out, and the first stage begins. My friends and I meet up a lot, the ones I can't meet in person stay in touch with this magical thing called the Internet, and I have big plans about what my vacation will look like. I put away my backpack with relief, not to take it out again for 2 and a half months. Lazy weeks pass, and I am (guiltily) doing nothing productive with my time.

Of course, as I am preoccupied being a couch spud, the work piles up. Initiate phase two, a.k.a chores. Clean the desk, clean the closet, clean the whole dang room. And then, of course, the studying. Math, science, and computer programming (because of my Indian techie dad, duh) all greet me in the morning. Do I do it all? Eh. Eventually, however, a girl gets bored.

*game show voice* Please welcome............stage THREE! Utter boredom, bordering on sadness. Those of you who don't have summer vacations that are almost three months long may not experience this, and lucky you, because I hate it. My advice to you all who also struggle with this is to always do something with your precious time. Blog, or draw, or whatever, as long as it makes you feel the satisfaction of a job well done. And my advice to the school district; make summer only two months long and spread the rest out over the school year in short breaks. It's been proven to help retention!

Another piece of advice I have is to follow my blog!

How to Write a Post About How to Write a Post About How to Write a Post

Step 1: Write an intro; need I explain?

     Step 2:
Show how to divide the process of writing a post about a post into 3 easy steps.                                     Recommended steps are Write, Visualize, and Finalize.

2a. Step 1: Divide the process into 3 steps; Write, Visualize, and Finalize, and explain them.

2a1. The first step is to write the post, which is a process in itself. basically, think of an idea and write the first things that come into your head and go with the flow. We'll fix it later.

2a2.  The second thing one might want to do when writing a blog post is make a graphic. I use Canva, and for the sake of efficiency, I will not elaborate. If you care enough to make an account, Canva itself will give you a tutorial.

2a3. The third one must do to write a successful post is to edit. Read it over or use spell check (we are all guilty of it).

2b. Follow your own guidelines to write a post.

Step 3. Write an outro; tell people you love them, etc.

Step 4: Hit Publish and forget this ever happened or you will get your brain in a big confused clump.

Pressed Penny Souvenir Stash

Ahoy, mateys! This Friday, I will be sharing with you my collection of pressed penny souvenirs. You know those machines that look like coin slot phones, but actually have these copper ellipses painted on the sides? Yeah, those are pressed pennies, and I collect them. You can get them at many locations in the U.S., but enough of my rant. Let's get to it!

Winchester Mystery House, San Jose, California.

Yeah, okay, I get it. My photography sucks. In my defense, I took these photos with my mom's phone on our living room rug.

Christmas In The Park, San Jose, California

The Tech Museum, San Jose, California

When my parents recognized computers from the 90's that looked like boxes, I finally realized how ancient they are. (My parents, not the computers)

JK πŸ’— you guys!

Muir Woods, Marin, California

The trees here are even more ancient than my parents, and that's saying something!

Still kidding, of course.

San Francisco Zoo, San Fransisco, California

Loved it!

Yosemite National Park, California

2016

Mono Lake, Lee Vining, California

This lake has a high sulfur content. It also has a lot of quicksand which STOLE MY MOM'S SHOE!

Lake Shasta Caverns, Redding, California

Go to my Travelogue post to see more of my misadventures here!

Circus Circus, Las Vegas, Nevada

A carnival themed hotel in Sin City.

Old Mission Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, California.

One of the 21 Spanish missions in CA.

Solvang, California.

A city built in Danish fashion.

Yosemite National Park, California

2017

No, I am not going to make another Travelogue post because we didn't take enough photos. 😞

Not a penny, but a cute keychain from Yosemite. Funny fact; although a bear sighting is supposedly 'rare', my dad has seen one every time he's been to Yosemite. And he's been there a lot!
I call him RaspBEARy
Cheesy, I know
Berry cheesy
😎

Fort Bragg and Willits, Mendocino, California

IT WAS SO COLD!!!

Scrutiny: Despicable Me 3 [SPOILERS]

Bello! I recently went to the movie Despicable Me 3. I had a great time! This movie is funny and very cute. It centers around the protagonist, Gru, getting fired from his job and finding his long-lost twin brother Dru. They work together to defeat another villain called Evil Bratt, who acts as if he is a stereotypical 1980's actor. The movie is emotional at times, laugh-out-loud funny, and full of suspense.

My Rating: ★★★★☆

Sorry for the short post this week; my internet is being very annoying and keeps buffering.

Make sure to follow my blog!

Ciao until Friday, Candies!

Things to do when you are BORED OUT OF YOUR MIND!

Howd'ya like my attempt at clickbait??? Anyway, let's face it; summer can be boring. Here are some things I do when the boredom threatens to make by eyeballs explode. πŸ‘πŸ’₯

  1. Go swimming. This might not be an option for everyone, but most people can access a community pool or something like that. Otherwise, just get active!
  2. Read a book. Some great ones are:
    1. Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand
    2. Seabiscuit by Laura Hillenbrand
    3. The Martian by Andy Weir [PROFANITY WARNING]
    4. Start a blog. If you have a Google account, just go to blogger.com to get started. It's free, highly gratifying, and fun!
    5. Read my blog! *CUE PROMO*
    6. Go on Khan Academy or Duolingo. Get your learn on!

SEE YOU FRIDAY, CANDIES! MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW AND COMMENT. CIAO!!!

    Evolution of a Graphic

Ciao, Candies! I am still not feeling well, if you read my last post. I also somehow injured my ankle, so yay. Today I decided to do a new type of post, so make sure to comment and let me know what you think. Let's get started!

I always use Canva or PicMonkey to edit my graphics; today I'm using Canva.

I start with a layout from Canva's selection usually, but sometimes I use custom dimensions.

Next, I choose a template. I don't always do this, but it is an easy way to make a clean-looking image.

Templates are displayed on the left.

Once I have chosen a template, I customize it to say what I want.

Thank you for reading and make sure to be back next week. Bye!
