Random Facts About Cheese


Hello everyone. Does this post really need an intro? Let's cut to the cheese, already.


  • The most popular recipe with cheese in the U.S. is mac and cheese.

  • There are about 2000 types of cheese out there!

  • Evidence of cheesemaking goes back about 7000 years!

  • Mozzarella is the most consumed cheese worldwide, mostly due to the consumption of pizza.

  • 10 pounds of milk produces about 1 pound of cheese.

  • There is actually an illegal cheese called Casu Marzu which hosts live maggot larvae. Yum?

  • My life is a lie; mice actually DON'T LIKE CHEESE. Like, what?

  • A cheese seller can also be called a cheesemonger.

  • Tyrosemiophilia is the hobby of collecting labels of cheese.
     I guess you could say this post was cheesy.
