Hello! I apologize in advance if this post is a bit short, but it's like 10:00 right now and I should be in bed anyway. I decided to do a review of the book The Help because I really enjoyed it. That is also why I themed Tuesday's post around it. But anyway lets get into it!
The Help is a novel by Kathryn Stockett. It is about 3 women in Jackson, Mississippi during the time when segregation was still rampant. Together, these three women plan to write a book. They have to be careful, however, and if you want to know why, read the book. This book contains elements of suspense, mystery, and romance. I definitely enjoyed it because it was descriptive to the point where even the dialogue was written in Southern lingo. I also feel like it has the perfect balance- not too much suspense, not too much mystery, and not too much romance. It was enough to keep you interested. In fact, for about a week and a half, wherever I went, this book was in my hands. That reference reminds me of another book called The Book Thief. Let me know in the comments if you want me to scrutinize that!
I would rate this book: ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆/5
Okey-dokey, candies. I really should get to bed. Bye!
