Hello. Listen, I apologize in advance if this post is kind of dry, but it is like 10:00 and I need to go to bed. I decided to make a simple life update post because I have never done one before.
School: I am not failing any subjects, so yay! I cannot believe it is already February, almost March!
Gymnastics: I almost have my back handspring, although I still need work on my aerial. And I only need my kip and flyaway for bars. That probably made no sense to those of you who don't do gym. Oh well.
Piano: I have a test in March, and prep is going okay. Not going to say I enjoy it, but I don't hate it.
Band Practice: I am starting to play higher notes on my clarinet for the concert in April (?). They are hard, but doable. Sort of.
Taekwondo: I just moved up a level within my belt, which is the one before black. We have yet to see whether my memory will hold all of the information being stuffed into it.
Math: I think I'm not failing. I think...
In Other News: We got DOUGHNUTS (!!!!!!!!) yesterday. I just realized I have a mild butt chin. And I am falling asleep here. Bye!

Self Invented Life Hacks
¿Qúe tal? For this post i decided to share a few life hacks I have discovered myself. What are we waiting for- let's get started!
1) Whiten teeth with bread:
Okay, for some reason I was rubbing bread on my teeth while looking at a mirror- don't judge me. I noticed an immediate difference though- my teeth looked whiter! Is it just me?
2) Coconut oil to remove kajal:
If you're Indian you have probably used this too, but it takes FOREVER to come off! Just take some tissue, add coconut oil, and wipe away the kajal to avoid that mess. It really works!
3) Make bold reminder posters:
Whenever I really need to remember something such as stretching before bed, I make a poster in bold marker and hang it wherever the activity needs to be done, ex. my bed. This in-your-face strategy helps people with bad memories like me.
Make sure to hit that follow button and follow my Google+. Bye, candies!

Travel Log: Reno/Mount Rose
Selamat pagi! Over the long weekend, we took a trip to Reno, Nevada. As you can guess, we skied (and I know the person in the thumbnail is actually snowboarding, but let's just let that blooper slide). For this post, I am going to be interviewing myself about my trip. So lets go!
1) Q: How long have you been skiing?
A: I started in 2012 and go for one weekend every year.
2) Q: Do you own equipment?
A: No, since we don't go too often.
3) Q: Where did you start out, and do you always go to Mt. Rose?
A: I started off in Tahoe in a resort called Tahoe Donner. This is my first time in Reno.
4) Q: Apple cider or hot cocoa or tea?
A: Apple cider unless the tea is fresh, but I do love a good cocoa.
5) Q: On a scale of 1 to 5, how good are you?
A: Maybe a 2.
6) Q: Poles or no poles?
A: I used to ski without poles but started with them this trip.
7) Q: What weather do you prefer for skiing?
A: I like powdery snow with 28° slightly sunny weather.
8) Q: What do you usually wear?
A: Thermals, snow pants, a sweater, a ski mask, helmet & goggles, and a snow jacket.

Easy Eggetarian Breakfast Ideas
I'm sure I can't be the only one that wakes up and immediately feels discouraged by the outright lack of anything delicious for breakfast. Being the most important meal of the day, this problem needs a solution. But there's nothing to fear, 'cause Nandy's here! These recipes are perfect for anyone, even eggetarians like me!
1) Sun Butter, Banana, and Chia Seed Toast
I am not joking when I say I 💗 this recipe. All you need is bread, PB, chia seeds, and flax seeds are optional. Find the recipe here.
2) Savory Oatmeal
This way of preparing oatmeal makes you feel full and ready to take on the world! With only oatmeal, spices, salt, cheese, and eggs, discover a whole new side to oats! Find the recipe here.
3) Smoothies
This idea is kind of generic, but I highly recommend this customizable drink. You can even make it a pudding like I did this morning. Find out how to do that here.
There is definitely more where that came from; if you are interested, click here. If you decide to make any of these, comment down below. Happy Friday!

I'm a Young Author... or am I?
Smurf (that's hello in Smurf)! Saturday was the District Science Fair, and although we didn't advance, I can try again in two years. Every year they don't hold the science fair, they hold the Young Authors Contest, which is a writing competition. I probably won't submit this next year, but I thought I'll write the first chapter of a story to get my writing muscles warmed up.

My Journey to a (Not-So) Wonderful Reality
"I'm pretty much screwed.
That's my considered opinion.
Screwed."
Those first words from "The Martian" (They have been adapted to be child-appropriate) are what popped into my head as soon as I woke up inside my phone. Those days were the most monumental of my life. Those days are what this story is about. But I'll get to that later.
Kids, if you are reading this on a computer or any other electronic device, listen to my next words very carefully:
- Print this story out.
- Shut off said electronic device(s).
- Run far, far away.
My name is Ashley Brigade and I survived.
That doesn't mean you will too.
What do you think? Do you want to hear the rest? Comment down below, and make sure to follow this blog. Smurf!

Self Promotion
Nuqneh (that's hello in Klingon)! You guys have probably experienced this feeling; the one where an infomercial pops up about a product that absolutely no one will ever need, yet for a second, you consider getting it. Such is the power of marketing. I decided to have a go at it myself today and write an ad for this blog.

Anecdote Hour: 1-24-2017
Ola! If you guys didn't notice, the date in the title is Tuesday's date. On Tuesday there was a science fair at my school and a few things happened. Some good and some not-so-good things went down. Read on to find out!
We were working on this project since December last year- we being my partner Garima and I. And our hard work payed off because we won second place! However, I got a little a LOT mad when I found out who won 1st place. It was 3 boys from my accelerated math class. Ugh. I actually got so visibly mad that I scared one of them. Whoops😜. I kinda...sorta...maybe told him he'd better watch his back OR ELSE. Of course, I was kidding. We might have missed out on the medal, but we still got a pretty ribbon which we are still deciding which one of us is going to keep. and we still get to compete at the district level of the Science Fair, where they will actually have to watch their back, because we are will come back with a vengeance! Wish us luck!
-Nandy
P.S. Do you guys like the title image? I think it looks very sciencey and it only took me a few minutes to make!
